Summer decorating ideas to celebrate the summer solstice

Unlike our clothes, we don’t change our decoration ideas with each passing season – though what a wonderful life it would be if we could. However, there are small changes you can make throughout the house when summer hits to cool things down and make the most of the warm glow of (hopefully) endless sunshine. For example, swap wool throws on a sofa for airy linen covers, or consider blinds that block the sun’s heat but diffuse lovely color throughout a room. We’ve gathered some top tips from our very own decoration team’s summer schemes over the years to inspire your own small – or big – seasonal updates.

If you have no access to direct outdoor space, bring the outdoors in with a wallcovering that evokes the feeling of being sat in a pergola under the shade of some blossoming wisteria. In this scheme, our decoration team used a ‘Botanical French Trellis’ custom-made wallpaper mural from Iksel, paired with Robert Kime’s Japanned beech armchairs and a ‘Green Marble Centre Table’ from Rose Uniacke.

IMPORTANT: make sure to order enough panels to cover your wall or surface (size options below). Our peel and stick Wallpaper is easy to apply and take off, leaving no adhesive residue. Featuring sharp, vibrant images, Wallpaper patterns are ideal for accent walls, flat surfaces, and temporary installations (like parties!). Available in three floor-to-ceiling sizes.
